Strengthening the Recreational Park Industrial Ecosystem in Indonesia

The Directorate of Industrial Management, Deputy for Industry and Investment, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is running a program for Strengthening the Recreational Park Industrial Ecosystem in Indonesia as a follow-up to Law no. 10 of 2009 Article 14 concerning Tourism, namely the organization of entertainment and recreation activities; and strengthened by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Regulation No. 4 of 2021 concerning Business Activity Standards in the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing in the Tourism Sector.

Recreation Parks is one of 13 subcategories of the tourism business sector. Therefore, it is necessary to study strengthening the recreation park industry ecosystem by profiling the recreation park industry to determine the number and distribution, challenges and policy aspects including the incentive mechanisms needed for development in the tourism sector.

DESMA Center as implementing partner prepared a study document on Strengthening the Recreation Park Industry Ecosystem in Indonesia which focuses on the governance of the recreation park industry, by determining the superior and priority recreation park industry; application of sustainability principles, as well as policy mapping and analysis for the development of recreational parks in Indonesia.

The aim of preparing this study is to provide policy direction, strategies and recommendations for the development of the recreation park industry in Indonesia; implementation of sustainability principles, in order to strengthen Indonesia's position in tourism development in ASEAN and globally as a quality and competitive tourism destination.
